The role:
- Work with founders and a small distributed team to set the direction for Discourse Graphs.
- Talk with researchers every week and turn feedback into a prioritized work queue.
- Show your ideas as working prototypes as often as you write them up.
The team:
- Discourse Graphs is an open-source project helping research teams link questions, claims and evidence.
- The team is small, friendly, and distributed across North America, Europe and India, with no managers.
- Engineers pull their own work from a queue, and progress is judged by what researchers do with the tools.
About you:
- You are drawn to improving how research is documented, connected and built upon.
- You are comfortable synthesizing diverse user needs into priorities and concrete prototypes.
- You work alongside designers and engineers, not handing work to them, and thrive without a manager.
Our offer:
- Full-time fixed-term role for 12 to 18 months, fully remote with some overlap with North American hours.
- Salary of $110,000 to $195,000 per year depending on location, plus health, vision and dental benefits.

Astera Institute
