Engineering Manager, Trading Platform

About the Role:

• Lead a team that builds and runs the TopstepX trading platform, spanning order flow, market data, and integrations.
• Be accountable for reliability, quality, and delivery of real-time systems used by thousands of funded traders daily.

Key Responsibilities:

• Run the team: set direction, hiring bar, and daily operations; plan capacity and shape team culture.
• Develop engineers through 1:1s, feedback, and performance reviews; build an inclusive, high-standard environment.
• Drive reliability and operational excellence: ownership of availability, on-call health, incident response, and observability.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience including production systems, and 2+ years of engineering management.
• Technical credibility in backend and distributed systems, ideally with .NET/C#, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong communication and data-informed approach to team health and delivery.
