Financial Clearance Coordinator

Financial Clearance Coordination:

• Providing support and knowledge for the financial clearance team members.
• Maintaining appropriate staffing levels and administering staff orientations and education.
• Demonstrating subject matter expertise with insurance requirements.

Financial Clearance:

• Working with physician practice personnel to assure correct CPT codes.
• Initiating pre-certification process with physicians or insurance companies.
• Completing eligibility check through electronic means or via phone.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Working with insurance companies to obtain retroactive authorization.
• Collaborating with the central billing office and medical records.
• Following EMTALA, HIPAA, payer, and other regulations.
