Technical Leadership:
- Set and continuously refine the go forward technical direction for CI, CD, Plan, and source code experiences, aligned against horizontal architectural initiatives.
- Work directly with the VP of Engineering as her technical counterpart on planning and technical investment.
- Translate company-wide engineering goals into concrete technical direction for Core DevOps.
System Quality and Risk:
- Define measurable quality metrics for services including availability, latency, pipeline success rate, and defect escape rate.
- Maintain a current picture of systemic technical risk and drive a prioritized plan to retire it.
- Design migration paths for long-lived systems to change without breaking users.
Cross-Team Collaboration:
- Partner with Infrastructure, Security, and SRE to ensure observability and graceful failure modes.
- Make architectural constraints clear to Product in roadmap terms.
- Grow Principal and Staff Engineers and contribute to technical hiring bar.
