Responsibilities:
- Conduct remote hearings for the Hearings Division or write appeal decisions for the Appeals Division.
- Assess legal arguments, review evidence, and sustain or dismiss civil summonses.
- Ensure cases are heard and decisions rendered timely while maintaining procedural integrity.
Qualifications:
- License to practice law in New York State, maintained continuously.
- Three years of recent satisfactory relevant legal experience after bar admission.
Work Environment:
- Fully remote, using your own computer and telephone.
- Up to 1,000 hours per year at an hourly rate of $60.67 - $65.43 USD.
- Fast-paced with tight deadlines; opportunity to maintain outside employment.
