Senior Counsel, Corporate Governance and Compliance

We are seeking a skilled Senior Counsel, Corporate Governance and Compliance with experience translating legal requirements into actionable compliance workflows to join our Legal team. The successful candidate will advise the organization on corporate governance and compliance matters, and play a pivotal role in scaling Cohere’s compliance management processes. As a member of our Legal Team, you will provide expert advice on corporate law and governance matters, oversee the implementation of corporate governance practices, monitor compliance with company codes of conduct, prepare board meeting agendas, and collaborate with various teams to manage procurement processes and customer compliance requests. You will also partner with information security to manage third-party audits and work with other teams to implement regulatory compliance strategies. The role involves advising on emerging legal and regulatory trends. The ideal candidate will have a law degree, 7+ years of experience in corporate law with a focus on governance and compliance, strong communication and analytical skills, and proven ability to manage compliance programs and work effectively with business and technical teams.
