Key Responsibilities:

  • Receives lost time and complex medical-only assignments, verifying coverage and initiating timely contact with employers, employees, and attending physicians.
  • Handles catastrophic claims with supervisory oversight, conducts telephone investigations, and evaluates/adjusts claims within authority limits.
  • Manages litigation, sets reserves for anticipated exposure including complex analysis with lifetime pharmacy costs, and completes mandatory reserve worksheets.

Qualifications Required:

  • College degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 3 years handling workers compensation claims, specifically versed in California Compensation statute.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication, and bilingual language ability is a big plus.
  • Strong aptitude with Microsoft Office programs and the ability to quickly learn new software, adhering to departmental policies and risk management controls.
