  • Responsible for risk selection/rejection, pricing, retention, growth, and profitability.
  • Develops a book of commercial surety business with select brokers/agents and maintains effective business relationships.
  • Visits producers and principals in order to retain existing accounts, survey exposures, build and maintain business relationships.

  • Develop metrics reporting from all vendors and have strong analytical skills to evaluate effectiveness of programs.
  • Serve as liaison between vendors and claims staff; audit, measure, report and evaluate all vendor’s performance.

  • Review and analyze data to assess validity of data and clinical risk.
  • Act as a strategic partner to underwriting by applying evidence-based criteria and sound clinical judgment to evaluate complex clinical and claims data.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage strong relationships with internal and external clients, Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), and vendors.

  • Handle declaratory judgment and recovery actions related to CGL/Construction Defect claims filed against the company.
  • Work collaboratively with adjusters, manager, director, AVP, VP and/or SVP in the Construction Defect claim group to provide coverage analysis.
  • Ensure proper and competent coverage attorneys are assigned to coverage claims and litigation management strategies are developed and employed.

  • Accept reinsurance contract requests from underwriters and work with the underwriters or VP to review for accuracy of reinsurance contract request specifications.
  • Independently draft and review external reinsurance treaties and provide input on related program agreements, based on pre-defined templates, protocols, underwriting input and industry knowledge.
  • Negotiate, in collaboration with underwriting, the reinsurance contract language supporting business terms with internal/external partners, and coordinate discussions with related parties to drive the contract delivery process, bringing in VP when necessary.
