Role Summary:
- Oversee editorial process for manuscripts in PLOS journals.
- Use research experience and critical evaluation to make nuanced editorial decisions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver developmental and promotional activities.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as escalation point for complex editorial queries and publication ethics issues.
- Support teams, editorial boards, and third parties to uphold scientific rigor and integrity.
- Evaluate submissions, make decisions based on reviewers' comments, and develop editorial policy.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in research, publishing, or relevant industry.
- Highly organized with strong critical assessment and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, able to work under tight deadlines and independently.
Qualifications:
- Postgraduate degree in relevant subject required; PhD, MD, or similar preferred.
- May require occasional national and international travel.
- Some flexibility to work across time zones.
