New Pre Auth Specialist

Job Summary:

• Responsible for obtaining managed care authorizations and verifying patient insurance benefits.
• Analyze utilization data from health plans' claims as required.
• Maintain optimal patient, referring physician, and insurance company satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtain required referrals and authorizations via phone, fax, or online.
• Review office schedules daily for patients requiring authorizations, referrals, and eligibility verification.
• Update patient accounts and EHR with details of insurance verification and denials.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years experience in healthcare insurance billing, verification, collections, or authorizations.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD-9, and computer spreadsheet applications.
