About this role:
- Owns the foundation that lets other software drive Firefox securely and reliably.
- Enables internal teams and outside AI tools to create products on top of this shared layer.
- Sets strategy for what to go after and in what order in a fast-moving, greenfield space.
What you'll do:
- Push the open standard (WebDriver BiDi) forward and build Firefox-only advantages.
- Design safety controls for user approval and control over software actions.
- Define strategy for third-party AI assistants and serve internal teams through one shared layer.
What you'll bring:
- A product-minded engineer or a very technical PM with developer-space experience.
- Comfortable setting strategy in ambiguity and owning a technical contract.
- Strong instincts on security and trust, and familiarity with web standards, MCP, or browser automation.
