Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the President's primary philanthropic advisor, preparing donor briefings and ensuring over half of his time is spent in cultivation and solicitation.
  • Translate the Presidential vision into structured donor strategies and support the Board's Development Committee in their fundraising engagement.

Portfolio Development & Systems:

  • Build and manage the major-donor portfolio using historical data to develop a curated Presidential portfolio and create individualized cultivation strategies.
  • Establish major-gift tracking systems, write grant applications, and oversee the CRM, gift entry, and stewardship processes.

Mission & Collaboration:

  • Articulate the Seminary's Gospel focus in donor-centered language, building relationships rooted in authenticity, trust, and shared purpose.
  • Work closely with academic leadership and communications to ensure alignment in messaging and foster a culture of philanthropy across the institution.

Qualifications & Travel:

  • Required: 7-10+ years of fundraising experience with a record of securing major gifts, exceptional communication skills, and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Must have the ability to travel extensively to build donor relationships, with preferred knowledge of the Episcopal Church or theological education settings.
