Job Description
As the Director, Conservation Membership of a nature-based solutions company, you will lead the team responsible for enrolling landowners in the Forest Carbon Works Conservation Membership Program. The key responsibility is working with the sales reps and the sales support functional staff to improve pipeline conversion and increase the forested acres we have under enrollment. This involves spending time with the team (virtually and in person), as well as prospective landowners, to understand our product alignment and market demands. The Director will work closely with the Natural Resources Team (certified foresters) to collaborate on pipeline management and optimize skill development, process improvement and product tailoring to drive growth. The position reports to the Chief Commercial Officer and works closely with the sales team to ensure the highest standards are met. Lead, drive performance and attain goals for the organization’s sales team and sales support roles (together, “membership team”), through team building, processes and technology. Motivate, guide and support the membership team through team and 1:1 meetings, in-person offsites and joint prospective member visits. Analyze the effectiveness of sales efforts and team performance through evaluation and improvement of sales team skills, training, sales collateral, enablement tools and collaboration with other teams. Take an active role helping to close opportunities with key large landowners, providing direct guidance and coaching to the team. Evaluate sales organization design, protocols, compensation and tools to maximize effectiveness.
