Key Responsibilities:
- Improve shared architecture, systems, and tools across web services and web pages.
- Create frontend components and libraries, and facilitate their adoption across all frontend teams.
Technical Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with JavaScript/Node.js and frontend technologies like React, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with web component libraries, server frameworks like Fastify, and reverse-proxy technologies.
Project and Infrastructure Focus:
- Help migrate Ancestry to a new web component-based platform and define release engineering processes.
- Manage deployment concepts like CI/CD, IAC, and cloud-based compute infrastructure such as AWS.
Additional Expectations:
- Write effective tests, apply localization and accessibility best practices, and work with legacy code bases.
- Familiarity with AI coding assistants, SEO, UX design, and security best practices is advantageous.
