Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of research administrators and finance professionals while fostering a collaborative and service-oriented culture.
  • Oversee departmental pre-award operations, providing strategic review on proposal development, sponsor guidelines, and compliance across various sponsors.
  • Manage post-award financial activities including financial reporting, cost transfers, salary allocations, and financial reconciliations.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Set department standards for compliance with sponsor, institutional, and regulatory requirements throughout the award lifecycle.
  • Establish internal controls and business processes to promote consistency and audit readiness.
  • Oversee critical compliance activities including effort certification, subrecipient monitoring, and award closeout.

Qualifications and Culture:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 7+ years of relevant work experience and advanced knowledge of sponsored research regulations.
  • Supervisory experience and excellent analytic and communication skills are required; an MBA or relevant certification is a plus.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional judgment and integrity, thriving in a dynamic research environment that values collaboration and continuous improvement.
