This is a permanent full-time staff position where you will help drive daily coverage on Future Perfect, oversee our freelance program, and edit and manage three of our writers. You will also assist the Future Perfect editor in overall management of the section and its staff, and will run the section in conjunction with their fellow deputy editor when the section editor is absent.
Lead a team of overnight reporters, delegating assignments and maintaining high journalistic standards to ensure timely, accurate, and engaging news coverage for our UK audience. Exercise strong news judgement, rapidly assessing breaking stories, allocating resources and directing coverage. Enforce strict deadlines and promote the use of AI tools to optimise efficiency. Manage and develop a high-performing, inclusive team.
