- Lead, mentor, and foster a healthy, high-performing globally distributed engineering team.
- Own the execution and delivery of highly critical, complex yearly roadmap items centered around large-scale foundational infrastructure upgrades, high availability, and platform resilience.
- Own and drive the change management processes across engineering and product domains.
- Lead and develop three sub-teams: Platform Engineering & ETL, Analytics Engineering, and Data Science & Analytics.
- Own the Data Lakehouse architecture: Trino, Iceberg/GCS, Airflow, Airbyte, Redpanda CDC, dbt.
- Support product launches with data change management: coordinate data impact analysis for new products (fixed income, global stocks, perps, 24/5 trading) across downstream datasets, dashboards, and reverse ETL.
- Own end-to-end recruiting for senior and/or hard-to-fill roles across functions from intake through close.
- Partner with hiring managers to build role scorecards, interview plans, and calibrated rubrics that reduce bias and increase signal.
- Proactively source and engage talent using targeted outbound, referrals, talent communities, and creative pipelines—especially for specialized fintech and infrastructure profiles.
- Play a critical role in strengthening Alpaca’s security, compliance, and AI risk posture across the organization.
- Support the identification, assessment, and documentation of cybersecurity and AI-related risks.
- Contribute to the design and execution of our risk management framework across traditional cyber domains.
