The Senior Systems Engineer will join the Business Systems Automation team to design, build, and optimize automation workflows that streamline business processes across the organization. As a key member of the Scrum team, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of automation initiatives. This is not just a development role; you'll partner closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate complex business challenges into impactful, measurable automation solutions.

This is a hands-on role that requires you to operate both strategically and tactically. You will manage a team of Systems Engineers who work on automation, enhancement, and modernization projects for stakeholders across the enterprise, while taking a hands-on approach where needed. The ideal candidate has driven enterprise-wide automation solutions, has a problem-solving mindset, and a passion for streamlining processes across enterprise applications.

At SurveyMonkey, this role involves designing and implementing user-friendly interfaces while collaborating with data scientists and ML engineers to deploy, monitor, and scale models effectively in production. This is a hands-on position where you’ll work across the stack and help bridge the gap between user experience and ML infrastructure.

We are looking for a motivated Senior Software Engineer I (Backend) to be part of the User team in Canada, responsible for supporting Authentication & Authorization within the SurveyMonkey product and providing backend services for managing user accounts and teams. We need a talented engineer with a passion for service ownership, AuthN + AuthZ, ensuring our user’s account state is maintained.
