Responsibilities:

  • Receive claims assignments, verify coverage, and determine applicability; interpret complex coverage issues and write appropriate reservation of rights and declination letters.
  • Determine investigation methods per Best Practices, review and manage outstanding files, evaluate and adjust claims within authority.
  • Assess risk transfer potential, manage litigated claims, consult with manager on claims exceeding authority, and pursue recovery.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of six years of litigation experience handling complex general liability claims; college degree required; law degree required; insurance courses a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels; computer skills with Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Obtain and maintain required state licenses; travel occasionally required.
