Senior Software Engineer

About the role:

• Backend engineering on the event-sourced, distributed workflow engine that executes business-critical processes for thousands of customers.
• You'll squeeze performance out of hot paths, design maintainability strategies, and reason about concurrency.
• You'll also help define what comes next, enabling AI agents to integrate with and drive the engine.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design, build, and evolve the engine and its APIs with backward-compatible changes and contract tests.
• Take on ambiguous problems, lead them end-to-end, and drive delivery across the team.
• Ship high-impact features like suspending process instances and enabling AI agents to steer running processes.

What you bring:

• 5+ years professional backend engineering with depth in distributed and event-driven systems.
• Strong API design and evolution, plus diagnosing performance under production load.
• Technical leadership from ambiguity, with crisp communication and product sense.
