Director, Legal - Employment

What you’ll do:

• Provide senior, practical employment-law advice to team members and stakeholders across GitLab, balancing legal risk, business objectives, and GitLab’s values.
• Directly manage matters across the employment lifecycle, including recruiting, compensation, performance, leave management, and separation.
• Represent GitLab in labor courts, employment tribunals, and agency investigations.

What you’ll bring:

• A Juris Doctor, LLB, or equivalent, admitted to practice in at least one EMEA jurisdiction.
• Substantial experience advising a multinational company with works councils across EMEA.
• Deep knowledge of employment compliance requirements across EMEA.

About the team:

• The Employment Legal team works closely with People Business Partners and Team Member Relations.
• This role will lead complex EMEA employment matters while contributing to consistent, practical legal support.
• The team builds clear, scalable processes for an all-remote organization.
