Inpatient Pediatric Medical Coder

Role Overview:

• This is a full-time, fully remote inpatient pediatric medical coding role supporting a broad range of hospital cases.
• You will ensure accurate and compliant coding while balancing quality, productivity, and turnaround requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes based on clinical documentation, diagnoses, procedures, and diagnostic results.
• Review charts for documentation completeness and submit physician queries when needed.
• Work assigned coding queues daily and maintain HIPAA-compliant practices.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of inpatient ICD-10-CM/PCS coding experience with 1 year in pediatric coding.
• Current certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, or CPC.
• Strong knowledge of official coding guidelines, Coding Clinic, CMS, and third-party regulations; Epic experience preferred.
