Overview:
- This level 3 coding position supports the Enterprise Coding Department by coding inpatient services.
- Requires active AHIMA certification and advanced inpatient coding experience.
Responsibilities:
- Code inpatient records at 95% accuracy and abstract information to assign correct ICD-10 codes.
- Resolve coding denials and queries with coding leads and billing.
- Stay current with federal and state regulations and collaborate with CDI reviewers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED with 4+ years of hospital coding experience.
- Active AHIMA credential (RHIA, RHIT, or CCS) and membership.
- Experience with Epic, 3M encoder, and spreadsheet software.
Additional Details:
- Monday through Friday schedule, with weekend work for overtime or makeup time.
- This is a remote position within the OHSU system.
