About the Role:
- This Research Director will own the strategic learning and measurement agenda for GiveDirectly's largest and fastest-growing product line: Large Lump Sum transfers.
- They will set organization-wide priorities for learning and large-scale M&E across LLS, District Transformation, and Cash + Coaching.
- The role includes building systems to track performance in near-real time and providing senior technical leadership on formal research.
Core Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve the theory of change across core products, defining standard outcome indicators and measurement best practices.
- Direct the development of models to predict and communicate impact at scale, including cost-effectiveness and ROI models.
- Mentor direct reports and research-engaged staff, managing laterally with senior leadership to streamline support.
