Key Responsibilities:
- Code and abstract complex inpatient records for data retrieval, analysis, reimbursement, and research.
- Assign DRG codes and ensure compliance with coding guidelines.
- Utilize the 3M encoder and EMR for efficient coding.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Four years of coding experience or two years plus internal program.
- AHIMA or AAPC credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree preferred.
- Skill in coding all service lines of inpatient accounts.
