Role Overview:

  • As a Coder I, you will be a key member of the Coding Team, responsible for reviewing medical record documentation to assign accurate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and modifiers.
  • You will work under general supervision, ensuring compliance with all coding guidelines, and leveraging software applications to perform coding tasks.
  • Your work directly impacts statistical classification, reimbursement, and the overall success of the department.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; prior medical coding experience or training preferred.
  • Must hold a current coding credential such as CCS, CPC, or CPCA, and pass a coding proficiency pre-hire test with 70% accuracy.
  • Skills in critical thinking, organization, communication, and computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Epic experience helpful.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly wage range of $24.92 - $34.89, with paid time off starting at 28 days per year inclusive of vacation, personal/sick, and holidays.
  • Fully paid parental leave up to 6 weeks, immediate retirement plan eligibility with employer contribution up to 9.5%, and generous medical, dental, and vision plans.
