Clinical Documentation Coding Specialist II

Overview:

• The Clinical Documentation Coding Specialist II provides inpatient facility coding and CDI support in the Health Information Management department.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough review of medical records to identify clinical diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign appropriate ICD-CM and ICD-10 PCS codes for accurate DRG assignment.
• Abstract required data elements and adhere to compliant query practices.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years of experience coding inpatient facility (HB).
• Current RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification required.
• Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding conventions.

Working Conditions:

• Sedentary position in an office setting, exerting up to 10 pounds.
• Involves sitting most of the time with no adverse environmental exposures.
