The Role:
- Travel to remote CBP sites to install, refresh, and repair infrastructure and end-user equipment.
- Serve as the sole on-site representative, making decisions when documentation is outdated or conditions change.
- Coordinate with engineering and site teams to ensure deployments are completed without disrupting operations.
What Success Looks Like:
- Leave each site fully operational, with verified functionality and a site contact who can operate the equipment.
- Make the right call on-site when plans fail, adapting or escalating based on actual conditions.
- Document as-built records and share lessons learned to benefit future deployments.
What You Bring:
- Experience deploying equipment at unfamiliar sites, often working alone and far from support.
- Proficiency across networking hardware, end-user equipment, and cabling, with certifications like Network+ or CCNA helpful.
- Active CBP BI or another DHS clearance preferred, but not required for start.
Working Conditions:
- Extensive travel, up to 90-95%, often to remote and austere locations.
- Work involves handling equipment, working at height, and potentially non-standard hours.
- Physical demands and site conditions require adaptability and self-sufficiency.
