Patient Financial Navigator

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Patient Financial Navigator with our Patient Access Department. This is a remote, work from home opportunity and you may be based outside of the greater Chicagoland area. The Patient Financial Navigator serves as an integral liaison and primary communicator within the patient’s financial management team. Essential Job Functions include determining & verifying benefits, calculating and providing estimates, educating and communicating insurance limitations, collecting monies, and screening patients for ability to pay. This role also involves coordinating efforts, overseeing payment applications, improving patient healthcare financial literacy, and adhering to UCM PRIDE values. The navigator meets productivity and quality expectations, participates in audits, identifies trends in payer requirements, and escalates issues requiring administrative intervention, while ensuring regulatory compliance. Performs other duties as assigned.
