Product Manager, Billing

Role Overview:

• You will be the product owner of Kong Konnect's commercial operating layer, translating sales and usage into invoices.
• Your work sits at the intersection of Kong's transformation into a multi-product enterprise and a company-wide monetization overhaul.
• You will turn manual billing and fulfillment processes into a product to improve sales, billing accuracy, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Platform Vision: Define the multi-year direction for pricing, metering, entitlements, and invoicing.
• Unified Entitlements: Build a first-class entitlements model consistently applied across contracts, product enforcement, provisioning, and billing.
• Metering & Usage: Run the event pipeline and reporting for accurate, auditable consumption visibility and charges.
• Checkout & Lifecycle: Own the self-serve plan discovery, checkout, payments integration, subscription state, and admin billing surfaces.
• Enterprise & Marketplace: Connect enterprise sales and channel motions to the billing stack, including CPQ sync and cloud marketplace integrations.

Qualifications:

• At least 8 years of SaaS product management experience, with 2+ years directly in billing, monetization, or pricing.
• Ability to co-design billing architecture with engineering and carry pricing changes from proposal through production.
• Experience with consumption-based monetization, Stripe or metered billing platforms, and pulling your own data via SQL or equivalent.
• Comfort with API, infrastructure, or developer-platform products and a bonus for leading pricing transformations or marketplace integrations.
• You hold billing surfaces to high design standards and use data to set priorities independently.
