Job Summary:
- Provides oversight of coding teams, holding them accountable to enterprise established KPIs, including DNFC.
- Must be a subject matter expert in current ICD coding classification systems, reimbursement, and enterprise compliance plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages staff to ensure the coding team is meeting productivity and quality standards, developing performance improvement plans as needed.
- Acts as a liaison between CDI, physicians, clinical quality, patient financial services, and other departments to ensure collaborative relationships.
- Actively monitors daily DNFC and coding work queues to ensure KPIs are met.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in HIM or related field and 4-6 years of experience, with 5 years of recent management of hospital-based coding teams.
- Experience in process improvement strategies and mentoring staff, and previous experience effectively managing remote teams.
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Technician (RHIT) required.
