Inpatient Complex Coder

Responsibilities:\n- Conduct comprehensive reviews of patient medical records, including histories, operative reports, and discharge summaries.\n- Assign precise diagnostic and procedural codes using encoder software, optimizing MS-DRG assignment.\n- Complete discharge abstracts and verify data integrity within the electronic medical record system.\n\nQualifications:\n- Certification as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CCA preferred; eligibility must be obtained within six months if required.\n- Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, medical terminology, pharmacology, and coding systems.\n- Prior coding experience preferred but not required.\n\nAdditional Information:\n- This position is fully remote with flexible hours once trained.\n- Must adhere to Federal, State, and local regulations, plus organizational integrity standards.\n- Support remote coding operations and maintain compliance with all applicable policies.
