Senior Counsel - Policy & Regulatory

Regulatory Compliance & Licensing:

• Own multi-state regulatory compliance obligations for HopSkipDrive as a transportation network company operating in the education sector.
• Draft and submit regulatory filings, advice letters, and compliance attestations to state agencies.
• Advise on revenue contract and RFP provisions with regulatory implications and build AI projects for regulatory matters.

Legislative Affairs & Policy:

• Monitor and analyze federal and state legislation affecting operations, with a focus on TNCs and school pupil transportation.
• Develop legal and policy positions and collaborate with Policy and Government Relations teams.
• Represent HopSkipDrive’s interests in regulatory rulemakings and manage responses to public records requests.

Litigation:

• Oversee a book of claims related to labor and employment claims and manage civil litigation cases.
• Support outside counsel in arbitrations and handle subpoenas, service of process, and regulatory investigations.

Cross-Functional Advisory:

• Manage data use agreements and research partnerships and serve as legal expert on AI and automated decision-making.
• Provide legal research and rulemaking assistance and leverage AI-powered tools across the compliance portfolio.
