The Senior Manager, Accounting will have a direct impact on accounting and reporting activities for a fast-growing, public biotech. Reporting to the Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting, this role is responsible for managing the monthly book closing activities, assisting with SEC reporting and technical accounting, and assisting with management and execution of our independent audit and Sarbanes-Oxley activities. This role also supports other activities such as the administration of share-based compensation programs, and management of collaboration arrangements.

Manage a key area within the finance team, delivering accurate, timely, and insightful management accounts and financial data. Partner with head office functions, produce month-end stock postings, and support the annual budget. Continuously review and improve processes and provide ad-hoc reporting for the business.
Works collaboratively with department leadership to review and manage open Accounts Receivable, accurately documenting follow-up activities resulting in the resolution of underpayments and denials. Conducts root cause analysis of denials and takes the action necessary to resolve the denial escalating accounts to management. Prepares reports for meetings with provider representative and senior leadership, as required.
Serve as a key individual contributor in the Finance organization, acting on behalf of the Manager of Cost Accounting. Manage a variety of long and short-term projects and lead planning sessions for strategic and operational cost planning. Interface with internal business units and external entities to manage requirements gathering and develop labor standards.
