Commercial Counsel

About the Role:

• Venture-backed legal technology company combining software and legal services for startups.
• Early legal hire responsible for commercial contracting and shaping practical legal support.

What You'll Do:

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including SaaS contracts, MSAs, NDAs, DPAs, and vendor agreements.
• Advise founders and in-house teams through Slack and calls with practical, risk-calibrated judgment.
• Develop playbooks and AI-powered workflows from negotiation positions and fallback terms.

What We're Looking For:

• Approximately 5 to 8 years of commercial contracts experience with meaningful in-house startup or tech experience.
• JD and active US bar membership; California or New York preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SaaS and technology contract terms.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary range: $170,000 to $220,000 annually.
• Remote within the United States, with San Francisco as primary location.
