Responsibilities:
- Conduct remote background investigations for federal security clearance, interviewing subjects, neighbors, employers, friends, and family.
- Perform record searches at police agencies, courthouses, educational institutions, and medical facilities.
- Report all obtained information clearly and concisely using an issued government computer system.
Qualifications:
- Candidates with 4 years of general work experience or a bachelor’s degree may be considered; experience conducting federal background investigations preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret eligible clearance; active federal background investigation with T5 adjudication preferred.
- Independent Contractor must maintain a business license, have an EIN, and a business bank account.
Training:
- New Investigator Training includes a 5-week virtual course followed by 2 weeks of on-the-job training for those without prior federal background investigation experience.
