Cyngn, Inc. is recruiting for a Public Company Director of Accounting and Controller to be responsible for monthly close activities, preparation and filing of external financial reporting documents, related SEC filings, and accounting for all equity-based transactions. This position requires someone who loves challenges and thrives with strict deadlines.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, the Senior Accountant role is a newly created position that will help maintain the integrity and accuracy of our SEC filings, assist with SOX compliance activities, and participate in financial closing procedures. This role will also serve as a point of contact for the audit firms and will help support the financial statement and internal control audits.

Play a critical role in the payroll team, reporting directly to the Head of Global Payroll. The position requires a meticulous individual who thrives in a challenging environment with ever-evolving needs in a high-volume, deadline driven payroll operation. The position will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive impactful improvements in the Sr. Payroll Analyst area of focus.

Lead the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, collaborate with an external consultant for SEC filings, and ensure compliance with public company reporting requirements. You will also stay updated on changes in accounting standards and address complex accounting issues.

Manage timely processing of invoices for merchants and affiliate partners and review invoices for accuracy. Manage cash applications and billing adjustments, as well as maintain an accurate AR aging. Manage timely processing of customer refunds. Work closely with CSMs to inquire about merchant deal sensitivities, obtain escalation contacts, and potentially learn other helpful information about the merchant. Work cross functionally to streamline processes and implement automation as it relates to AR.
