Director of Legal

Who We Are:

• Emergence is a thematic holding company backed by the Pritzker Organization, exclusively acquiring and scaling category-defining software businesses.

What You'll Do:

• Serve as the first point of contact for legal questions across all portfolio companies, using an AI-assisted intake and triage system.
• Build and operate the infrastructure for legal operations: centralized matter tracking, playbooks, escalation protocols, and reporting.
• Review and negotiate routine vendor and customer commercial contracts, and manage entity governance across the holding structure.

What We're Looking For:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state, with 3-5 years of legal experience.
• Comfortable building processes from scratch, with strong commercial contract instincts and judgment to triage matters.
• Ability to apply legal judgment across multiple industries and coordinate with specialist outside counsel.
