Incident Commander

About the team and the role:

• TCGplayer, now part of eBay, connects millions of buyers with retailers in the global collectible card game space.
• The Frontline Engineering team ensures the reliability and performance of the platform that serves millions of buyers and sellers.
• You'll collaborate with Cloud Operations, SRE, Engineering teams, and Product stakeholders.

What you will accomplish:

• Drive operational excellence by measuring critical metrics to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
• Continuously refine and update operational runbooks and procedures, ensuring alignment with evolving technologies and business needs.
• Proactively contribute to long-term strategic initiatives to improve incident management practices.

What you will bring:

• Direct experience as an incident commander, including managing live incident calls, coordinating triage efforts, and driving communications during high-pressure situations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities, able to stay composed and decisive under pressure during high-impact incidents.
