You will help us bring our vision to life while exploring and advancing gameplay spaces and combat encounters. You will design, prototype, and iterate, and polish our maps, including level geometry, blockouts, encounters, and other gameplay elements.
With a focus on stylized art direction, this Senior Environment Artist role will bring the game's many worlds and environments to life and help create an immersive and engaging experience for players. This role will report directly into the Environment Art Director.
Produce photorealistic real-time visual effects, including explosions, fire, weapon FX, smoke, clouds, and debris using Unreal Engine. Collaborate with Environment, Lighting, Animation and Design to support both artistic and gameplay requirements for VFX across gameplay and cinematics. Help research new workflows and proactively contribute to documentation. Ensure VFX content is performant and within budget.
Take camera shots from RLO and install the actual animatable characters and final sets, resolving any issues that arise. Harvest camera data from Rough Layout, install and stage character rigs, props, final sets and set dress shots based upon key artwork, working with the Art Directors to achieve the desired aesthetic for the set. Support and maintain camera framing through character animation and lighting.
Responsible for creating VFX to work and assist in gameplay, environment, and cinematics of games. Creates, designs, and implements real-time particle effects using both static and animating 2D/3D elements. Placing of visual FX across all areas of the game, including environmental and gameplay FX, and cinematics.
