Build and own the platforms that Gopuff systems run on. Build high scale, high throughput APIs to serve millions of customers. Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to improve the UX for customers searching and browsing for products on Gopuff. Drive the technical architecture and design of business domains. Architect and develop new features and products in the React + Elixir codebase powering our web applications and API. As a Backend Software Engineer Contractor, you will help the team deliver high-quality solutions for Newsela’s Core curriculum product. You will be working in a fast-paced environment to manipulate different types of content and text data in a myriad of shapes and sizes, as well as work on the extension of a Python service to deliver this content for consumption by downstream systems and UIs.

This role is central to improving the customer booking experience, driving customer satisfaction, and strengthening retention across Curri’s fast‑growing logistics platform. You will build tools and features that move the built world forward, improving both front‑end experience and back‑end funnel performance. This position calls for a hands‑on engineer with deep technical expertise and excellent communication skills.
