As a transpiler engineer, you will help build the foundations of a system that turns source code into human language. The Driver Transpiler blends traditional compiler elements with LLM content generation to generate exhaustive, structured documentation of software. This architecture fuses traditional compiler-like static analysis and data structures with highly structured use of large language models (LLMs).
Joining the “Digital Workflow” team, you will design and implement web-based applications to automate industrial machines - from simulating them in the Cloud, all the way to operating them on the shopfloor - including backend and databases, user interfaces, CI/CD pipeline, and everything in-between. You will get the chance to work with our robot systems (including robotic arms and three-axis machines) and the tablet that shop-floor operators use to control and interact with their equipment.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will take us beyond traditional monolithic SQL engines and batch pipelines to build the next generation of distributed data storage and processing systems. You will build systems that can scale indefinitely, and surpass traditional query performance, while making the interfaces for that data simple, expressive, and cleanly abstracted.
Work directly with clients to understand business requirements and deliver technical solutions. This includes scripting automation in Python, building APIs and backend services in Node.js/Python, and deploying components in containerized environments. The Driver Transpiler treats software explanation as a compilation problem, emitting human language instead of machine code. The transpiler generates human language content at large volumes and requires significant asynchronous task orchestration due to the high volume of highly constrained LLM inference calls to external APIs. This is a foundational role where you'll collaborate closely with our CTO and engineering leadership to establish backend foundations and architecture.
Build secure, scalable cloud-native services to support real-time medical workflows, develop clinician-facing interfaces for interacting with streaming video and telemetry, and implement robust APIs and protocols to integrate with edge systems. Design for degraded connectivity, offline scenarios, and secure data relay, also work with the Harbor GM and mission owners to shape the product roadmap.
Take ownership of end-to-end development, having a direct impact on both the product and the technical decisions that shape it. Develop and deploy end-to-end ML pipelines from data to production and build and optimize ML and LLM-based solutions, including RAG and agentic pipelines.
