We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-performance team, focused on people development, technical quality, and operational excellence. This person will play a crucial role in scaling both people and systems in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure ownership and accountability. Make assertive decisions under pressure and within tight constraints.

Build and evolve cloud governance capabilities, such as the Compliance Engine and Cloud Account Factory, to ensure Canva’s cloud environments remain compliant and low-risk. Design and maintain foundational platforms and services that simplify cloud deployment. Drive operational excellence across cloud infrastructure by collaborating with Engineering Governance and Core Infrastructure teams.

Proficient in Golang, expert in code reviews, and skilled in debugging. Strong knowledge of relational databases and ability to define strategies for non-relational databases. Designs scalable microservices, evaluates architectural trade-offs, and ensures robustness under high request volumes. Designs monitoring strategies, sets up alerts, and ensures system observability to prevent issues. This is a remote position.
