As a Clinical Research Associate, you will monitor and own the progress of clinical studies at investigative sites, ensuring studies are conducted, recorded, and reported per protocol, SOPs, ICH-GCP, and regulations. Direct the medical education strategy, establish a medical education team, and develop and execute internal and external product and procedure training programs for Calyxo products. This role also includes delivering clinical training during procedures, providing technical assistance to surgeons and OR staff during live surgical procedures, and training surgeons to achieve procedural independence.

Assists with the appropriate identification of diagnoses, conditions, and/or procedures that are representative of the patient’s hospital stay and care provided including Severity of Illness (SOI), Risk of Morality (ROM), during an inpatient hospitalization. Initiates concurrent queries to providers as supported by medical record documentation to improve the accuracy, integrity, and quality of patient data, and drive improvement toward quality physician documentation within the body of the medical record.

Abstracts clinical information from medical records and assigns ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes to patient records according to procedures. Works with coding databases and confirms CPT codes. Inputs and maintains data on procedures required for reporting. Requires 4+ years of OBS/OPS coding experience and certification from AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or AHIMA RHIT or CCS. Performs coding on multiple specialties with proficiency.

Evaluate clinical pathology data and prepare reports for nonclinical safety studies. Support Study Directors in addressing clinical pathology related data and issues with sponsors.
