We are looking for a talented and experienced AWS Python Backend Engineer to develop and maintain microservices to ensure scalability and reliability. You will design and optimize databases, implement and optimize APIs, and collaborate with multiple developers on projects using version control systems. You will also utilize Terraform to manage key infrastructure and integrate AWS Lambda with AWS API Gateway when necessary.

Provide technical expertise and guidance on projects, stay on top of new technologies and tools, solve big architectural challenges, analyze best solutions, and show up ready for anything. You collaborate with our design, product, and engineering teams to find relatable, new ways to use technology, help others work within technical limits, and build products that improve people’s lives.

You'll lead the effort to scale our metrics and storage systems, ensuring they meet the complex demands of our most advanced customers and play an instrumental role in the evolution of our platform as we grow our capability to ingest and query petabytes of data. You will set the technical direction for the team.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role directs a team of dedicated engineers. A highly technical role where you will lead from a place of understanding and develop an intimate understanding of the underlying technical architecture as well as contributing to the future direction of the platform.
