As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will build, automate, and maintain robust IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance through modern automation practices. You will play a key role in maintaining system uptime, implementing security best practices, optimizing performance, and supporting a dynamic team of software and systems engineers.
Work closely with clients to understand their technical requirements and database architecture either remotely or on-site. This role involves leading and supporting MariaDB deployments, conducting performance tuning, and providing strategic recommendations for database scaling and architecture improvements.
As part of the IT Infrastructure Engineering team, you will help develop AI solutions and the ongoing AI strategy at Gusto, while also managing our organization's infrastructure systems and networks to ensure they are functioning and meet Gusto’s needs.
The Infrastructure Engineer is primarily responsible for engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of the Company’s infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, storage, backups, and disaster recovery planning. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead complex projects.
The successful candidate will perform complex functional activities in support of servers running the Windows server operating system. They will regularly exercise independent judgment and analytic skill in solving complex technical problems. This individual serves as the focal point for problem resolution by interacting with USPS employees and vendors to ensure proper application installation and operation.
Support USPS implemented middle tier technologies on Windows and Linux servers, including web and application servers, containers and container management technologies, messaging technologies, cloud platform and services, automation tools, scripting languages and monitoring tools. Schedule and deploy middle tier services or middle tier components, patches or service pack releases, using Ansible, other automation tools, or manually as required.
