Draft, review and negotiate a variety of contractual agreements between the company and its clients. Respond to internal and external inquiries and advice on the contract terms and conditions. Responsible for interacting and assisting the sales team and other internal departments, during the contractual process. Identify and mitigate risks and causes of the main legal contingencies or exposures.

This position is for a commercial legal counsel who will work with the contracts team while also supporting the wider business in a range of commercial and legal matters. Responsibilities include drafting, analysis, and negotiation of commercial agreements, as well as partnering with legal team members on strategic projects and regulatory issues. The candidate will also create and advise on templates, policies, and procedures to address new requirements.

Review internal suspicious activity reports using internal and external data sources. Analyse customer profiles, transaction data, and relevant information to determine the characteristics of money laundering, international sanction evasion or terrorist financing. Prepare and submit suspicious activity reports to the FIUs, with a focus on the French Financial Intelligence Unit (TRACFIN). Act as a reporting officer and correspondent to French and other FIUs and answer official requests.

As Senior Compliance & Risk Manager, you will be a key member of Paddle’s legal and compliance team, working closely with legal, product, and operational teams to ensure Paddle remains compliant with global payments and fintech regulations as we scale rapidly. This role requires someone with 6-8 years of experience in payments, fintech, and scale-up businesses, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance regulatory rigor with practical business solutions. You’ll lead the compliance team, including hiring and managing two additional compliance professionals, to build a robust and scalable compliance framework.
