We're seeking Machine Learning / AI Engineering Co-ops for a full-time, 4-month term (January–April 2026). As a co-op, you will join a team focused on challenges at the intersection of scale, intelligence, and reasoning, contributing to the development of next-generation AI models and agentic frameworks for scientific discovery. This remote role can be based anywhere in Canada.

As a Staff Backend Software Developer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of developers, designers, data scientists, and business professionals, working on the Varicent Incentives. You would be working on a single-page web application utilizing React and Redux frameworks that connects to a REST API written in C#, hosted in AWS.

Build products utilizing Python, FastAPI, GraphQL, and Typescript while working directly with Autonomous Agents, LLMs and ML models to drive innovation. Partner cross-functionally with product managers, designers, stakeholders, and other engineering teams to ensure that we build the right things the right way. Embrace scale and speed throughout the development lifecycle.

Fine-tune state-of-the-art models, design evaluation frameworks, and bring AI features into production. The work ensures models are not only intelligent, but also safe, trustworthy, and impactful at scale. Train and customize diffusion models using LoRA, DreamBooth, and other parameter-efficient methods. Build, clean, and annotate large-scale image datasets with captioning, tagging, and NSFW filtering for safe and aligned generation.

You would join the team called “Claims Management”, in charge of refunding €350M+ of healthcare expenses every year to 1M+ members across France, Belgium, Spain, and Canada. Our mission is to refund each member as fast as we can and the right amount, while being cost-effective for Alan. The engineering team builds the infrastructure, interfaces, and applications to provide first-class service.

Contribute to the design and development of the infrastructure responsible for operationalizing Machine Learning at Dave. This team is dedicated to innovation, focusing on Artificial Intelligence, alert engineering and testing of new technologies. You will collaborate to create MVPs and pilots that validate business hypotheses and directly impact the future of clients' products.
